- The New Jersey Drug Card was introduced to the residents of New Jersey on July 9th 2007. Since that time it has been used to discount more than 5000 prescriptions, with average savings of 32%.
The program was created to help the uninsured and underinsured afford prescription medication. There are no age limitations or income requirements; every resident of New Jersey is eligible. To get your free New Jersey Drug Card simple visit www.newjerseydrugcard.com and print a card – it is that easy. If you do not have access to a computer visit any Drug Fair Pharmacy, mention the New Jersey Drug Card and they will apply your discount right there. No enrollment forms, no fees, no waiting periods, every one is eligible. If there is not a Drug Fair Pharmacy in your area call the Bergen County Wellness Discount Program @ 201-336-6405 and they will mail a savings card to you.
More than 57,000 pharmacies nationwide will accept the card; there are more than 2900 pharmacies in New Jersey that will honor the card.
The New Jersey Drug Card is more than just a Prescription Discount Card – additional savings programs include – $25.00 prescription eyeglasses, vision, hearing, diabetic supplies, teeth whiting and more all included with the card. These benefits where developed to help people more easily manage health care expenses. The New Jersey Drug Card program understands that the residents of New Jersey may need assistance with health care cost solutions. Therefore, the New Jersey Drug card has partnered with Partnership for Prescription Assistance (PPARX), Health Access America (HAA) and other non-profit organizations, dedicated to educating the public about affordable health care options.
The New Jersey Drug Card is powered by UNA Rx Card, which is a division of United Networks of America. Francesco Ciccone, Executive Vice President noted that this program has saved tens of millions of dollars in health care expenses across the country. UNA Rx Card has set up similar programs in New York, Florida, Louisiana, Alabama, California, Arizona, Tennessee, Colorado, Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, and others, and will eventually have a health care savings card in every state. |
